These weapons were originally created by various assasins guilds to help in their line of work, and were only created in the smaller blades; daggers and shortswords.  The usefullness of these blades soon caught on with other people, and now that are created in any variety of sword.

 

These +1 weapons have the unique ability to paralize any creature wounded by a Blade of Paralysis.  When stuck, the creature must make a Fortitude save against a DC of 18, or be paralized for 1d4+1 rounds.  In addition, all blood flow ceases, so fast healing and regeneration are not used.  Also, potions cannot be used, as the body is unable to swallow them.

 

A creature can only be affected by a Blade of Paralysis once per day.
